Ecological landscape projects
Our projects include landscape designing and development for bungalows, townships, Temples, Hotels, farm house plots and resorts in Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Pune, Mahabaleshwar and Belgaum. All our designs are inspired by nature with free-flowing shapes. Every project is designed from an ecological perspective. We consider the geographical location, soil type, climatic condition and existing diversity of the site while working on master planning. Detailing is carried out at the macro and micro levels by prioritizing the structural and functional diversity. The trees for the plantation are selected meticulously. Native trees that enhance diversity are proposed for every project.
Till today we have designed and executed numerous projects.

Landscape designing and development for Jain temple at Panhala
Located on the way to the historical Panhala fort, the site is situated on steep contours. As we were involved from the stage of architectural master planning, we designed the structures in co-existence with the landscape. We took advantage of natural topography and designed terraced landscapes in tune with existing contours. The structures were connected via free-flowing corridors. We proposed hanging creepers that created greenery and liveliness on the vertical walls of corridor. We preserved existing trees and designed landscape accordingly. The selection of native fruiting trees for plantation enhanced the diversity of birds tremendously.
Landscape for resort at Mahableshwar
Situated in the lap of the Western Ghats Mountains, the resort has a breathtaking view of the adjoining valley. A concept of courtyard landscape was proposed to surround each suites with greenery internally as well. Each suite has its own deck, water body and a small butterfly garden. Flowering trees that keep blooming in different seasons were planted for aesthetics. The vegetation plan was worked out according to the climatic conditions of Mahableshwar.
Biodiversity Park at Podubidri, Karnataka
Applied Environmental Research Foundation has appointed us to design a Biodiversity Park for Suzlon. Nested in Southern Western Ghats, it was a completely degraded site due to construction activity. Site was 15 acres & was surrounded by the forest. We studied existing nearby habitats and then worked on soil and water conservation measures. We then designed the park by creating multiple habitats, micro habitats for birds, butterflies and other smaller fauna. We created an aquatic ecosystem by designing ponds of various sizes and depths.  Grassland and forest ecosystem was also proposed. The tree species selection was done according to local climatic conditions. Theme parks like Medicinal Park, Butterfly Garden, Nakshtra Udyan, Rishi Garden, Aroma Garden, State Tree Park, Orchid Garden were created and connected with walking trails. We also designed Interpretation centers, observation Machan, display areas with models and boards at different locations for awareness and education.
Eco Resort at Tekepar near Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve.
Our client wanted to design a landscape for his upcoming resort near Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. As the site was near TATR, we decided not to have a beatified garden, but a landscape that is ecologically sound with functional and structural diversity.Â
We proposed on-site tourist attractions such as a birds area, Butterfly Park, Nakshtra udyan, Medicinal herb garden and designed a Nature trail connecting all these areas with an information center.

Biodiversity mapping and Documentation
We have carried out detailed biodiversity assessment and documentation for NGOs, landscape designers and societies. Few documentation projects were carried out with the help of the kids.

Biodiversity assessment at Baner hills for Dr. Garudkar Vasundhara abhiyan
Dr. Garudkar Vasundhara abhiyan is working on restoration of Baner hills from 2006. They appoint us to assess and document the diversity of seasonal herbaceous plants, birds and other fauna on 65 acres of the hill. We documented 72 bird species, 92 ephemeral herbaceous flowering species & 34 butterfly species. We are also monitoring the seasonal biodiversity to understand the spatial and temporal changes.
Tree census on Baner hill for Dr. Garudkar Vasundhara abhiyan.
Dr. Garudkar Vasundhara Abhiyan plant1500 trees every year on Baner hill from last 14 years as a part of their restoration work. Abhiyan wants us to carry out a tree census on 65 acres of the restoration site to understand the survival rate of the plantation done so for and tree and shrub species diversity. We mapped and tagged 11400 trees and shrubs of more than 174 species. Similarly we worked out the height class distribution, area-wise density and diversity of trees and shrubs.
Trees mapping for Weaver landscape studio at NFIA.
Landscape designer Weaver studio want to design the landscape by maintaining the native trees at National film archive of India, Pune. We help them to identify all the trees and consult them about the Native trees that need to maintain and Non Native and invasive trees species that can be uprooted.
Biodiversity mapping for Prakrtii Society & Tree census for Five garden society
Mapping of diversity like trees, birds, butterflies species with kids is great pleasure and a learning process for them. We mapped biodiversity in Prakritii society & and made a pictorial document. Kids literally enjoyed the mapping and get connected to diversity around them. We also conducted tree census in five garden society & designed a landscape plan to enhance existing diversity.
Biodiversity mapping at Pateshwar hill, Satara for Eseeed.
Eseeed is Ex students association of students of College of Architecture, Kolhapur. For the conservation of Pateshwar temple & surrounding area, Eseeed wanted to doccument the flora & fauna diversity of Pateshwar hill. It was a raid biodiversity mapping. We documented 64 species of trees including shrubs, 21 species of birds & 6 species of butterflies.
Biodiversity mapping at Thermax group of company campus at Shirwal.
Thermax group of companies having their unit at Siirawal on 100 acre land. They have doing tree plantation in their premises since last 8 years.
We have been appointed to evaluate the effects of plantation so far in the company premises & provide the consultancy for future landscape & plantation to enhance the existing biodiversity. We are carrying out 1 year biodiversity assessment covering all the seasons.
Biodiversity survey for Tata Moters, Pune
Flora & fauna survey for Tata Motors on @ 1200 acre land in Chikhali, Pimpari chinchva & Maval unit. The survey was done in association with Shrushti Foundation.
Tree mapping for private farm house plot
We have done tree mapping for various private farm house plots in Maharashtra. This mapping helps for further development activities for the client.
Biodiversity assessment at Kalaj hill, Phaltan for Cummins India Ltd.
Cummins India is working on Restoration of Kalaj hill at Phaltan since last 7 years. We have been appointed to survey seasonal biodiversity & asses the effect of restoration work done so far & provide further management plan. We assessed Grasses, Herbaceous flora, Birds, Butterflies, Insects, Spiders & Reptiles.
Biodiversity survey & assessment at Biodiversity park, Talawade
Vectar designs have developed a biodiversity park, funded by Alfa Laval at Talawade. They have developed Forest & grassland ecosystem replacing existing non- native plantation. We have been appointed to assess the impact of forest & grassland on biodiversity & compare it with existing non-native ecosystem
Tree census at Mula river bed 5 km stretch for PCMC
PCMC side stretch of Mula river is assessed for trees on river bank. we assessed 300 trees from Surya hospital, Wakad to Jupitar hospital, Baner
Existing flora assessment at 5 villages in Satara District.
Varud, Rajapur, Garavadi, Jhakhangaon & Rajachi Kurle are the 5 villages in Satara district where Say trees organization proposed tree plantation with association with Pani foundation. We surveyed existing flora in all these villages & provided plantation plan accordingly.
Workshop and Awareness Sessions
We have conducted numerous Workshops and Nature walks for a wide spectrum of citizens and NGOs. We also conducted Presentation and online webinar on Nature restoration,conservation, Toxin free lifestyle and Ecological Landscape for college students in Pune and Kolhapur.
Workshops
Workshops on Bird nesting behaviour, Artificial bird box making, Birdbath making, Habitat creation, Biodiversity mapping, Seed to saplings making, Organic terrace gardening, Vegetable terrace gardening were conducted for corporate like TCS, MKCL, HSBC, Eaton and groups like Baner Balewadi Residence Association, Dr. Garudkar Vasundhara Abhiyan, Savarkar Maandal, Nigadi, Jain social group- Sakhi mandal, Kolhapur and forf several societies in Balewadi, pune.
Nature walks
Walks such as Biodiversity walk, Flower walk, Butterfly walk, Bird walk, River walk and Nature walk were conducted for NGOs like Dr. Gardudkar Vasundhra Aabiyan, Sahapidia, Janvani, Jeevit Nadi Living River Foundation and corporate like Tata Technologies, Tata Communications Ltd, Ladybird Environmental Consulting LLP, Goodera and Magna Automotive India Pvt Ltd.
Webinars and presentations
Presentation and online webinars on Nature restoration, conservation, Toxin free lifestyle and Ecological Landscape were conducted for college students at Sopanrao Moze college of Engineering, Pune, H.V. Desai college, Pune, S.N. Patil college, Pune, Vishwakarma University, Pune and Vivekanand college, Kolhapur.
Tree plantation consultancy
We provided consultancy for Tree plantation for several clients such as NGOs, Societies, Private Companies. Private land owners, Farm house plot owners and Landscape Designers in Kolhapur and Pune.
Tree plantation for society
24K Sereno society in Baner wanted to plant native trees on the road in front of their society. We proposed Native plants of 60 species based on climatic conditions of Pune. Trees species were selected to enhance biodiversity.  Awareness session was conducted for residents to understand the tree species planted and importance of Native trees.
Tree selection was done for plantation work at Regency society and Prakrttii Society, Pune.
Tree plantation for NGO
Dr. Garudkar Vasundhara Abhiyan, working for the restoration of Baner hill plant 1000 trees and 500 shrubs every year. We consult them for the selection of trees and shrubs for plantation. We select the trees that can survive on slopes, rocky terrain and having minimum water requirements. While selection of trees, we also consider the criteria such as soil and water holding capacity of tree, trees which require very low maintenance, tree species that attract pollinators like birds and insects, medicinal trees, butterfly host and nectar plants etc.

We helped landscape designers for selection of native trees for their projects in Kolhapur and Pune according to requirement of the projects.
Tree plantation at Navalakh Umbre for German company FEV India Pvt. Ltd.
A German Company FEV India Pvt. Ltd wanted to plant trees in Village Nawlakh Umber, near Talegaon MIDC.
We visited the site, selected the area for plantation and suggested trees for plantation according to environmental conditions and soil type and get plantation done.
Miyawaki designing & consulting
We provided consultancy for Tree plantation for several clients such as NGOs, Societies, Private Companies. Private land owners, Farm house plot owners and Landscape Designers in Kolhapur and Pune.
Miyawaki at Baner hills for Dr. Garudkar Vasundhara Abhiyan
Dr. Garudkar Vasundhara Abhiyan wanted to create a Miyawaki as one of their plantation program at Baner hills.
We selected a suitable area of 1200 sq.ft. at foothills and designed a Miyawki layout incorporating canopy tress, mid canopy trees, shrubs, herbs and climbers. Lay out was designed to achieve structural diversity. Saplings were selected taking in account the terrain and the soil type. Native trees having vertical canopy, suitable to rocky and degraded area were selected. 2'6" deep bed was prepared with coconut fiber, dry leaves, coco-peat and local soil. Saplings were planted according to designed layout. Entire work was carried out by DGVA volunteers. Degraded area is now turned in to a dense forest
Miyawaki on farm land at Hatnur, Dist. Sangli
This project is designed on a farm land fro private landowner to enhance the diversity in farm land & to increase pollination.
Miyawaki consulting for Say trees at Pune, Aurangabad, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Delhi, Amaravati, Benglore, Mumbai, Satara & Buldhana
We provided consulting for selection of native trees on half acre land. Native trees of three layers with tall canopy & shrubs were selected for this project.
Corporate volunteering
More than 500 citizens were involved in volunteering program conducted by us for various conservation works like trenches making, mulching, bund making, river and hill clean up and tree plantation. These drives were conducted at Baner hills for Corporate like Tata Technologies, Tata Communications Ltd, Ladybird Environmental Consulting LLP, Goodera, Trinseo India Trading Pvt Ltd and Magna Automotive India Pvt Ltd.Â
Volunteering activity was carried out in association with Dr. Garudkar Vasundhara Abhiyan.
