Ecological landscape is designing and developing land in sync with nature. Corporate volunteering
The participation of corporate employees as volunteer in conservation and restoration activities plays a significant role in conserving nature and increased environmental awareness among corporates. Many volunteers tend to shift from formal professions to conservationists after volunteering. Volunteer programme motivates people in understanding the need for the conservation of our natural resources.
We conduct corporate volunteering for various conservation works like making trenches, mulching, making bunds, river and hill clean up, tree plantation, making tree guards, seed collection, making saplings in nursery etc.
Seed collection drives
Getting native tree species saplings is a major challenge for plantation and restoration projects. Due to the unavailability of a variety of native seeds, only a few native species are available in nurseries. As a result a large number of exotic trees are being planted. To avert this, we collect native tree seeds from diverse locations like hills, forests, and gardens and distribute them to nurseries for sapling making. We also disperse these seeds on restoration sites.
We conduct seed collection drives and seeds to sapling-making workshops for schools, corporate, and citizens.
Butterfly Garden designing and developement
Butterflies are the third most important pollinators. The food we eat, Oxygen we breathe is a result of pollination.
Similarly they are important element of food chain. Unfortunately butterfly diversity and population is declining due to various reasons. Creating butterfly gardens is a simple solution to conserve them. We design and develop butterfly gardens for private landowners, farm houses, schools and corporate offices. Butterfly garden don’t need a large area, a small garden can fit even in a balcony.
Miyawaki
Miyawaki is a method of creating an urban forest on a small degraded plot in short period of span with using local resources. It is not just plantation of trees, but it is creating an ecosystem that contains the elements like trees, shrubs, herbs and climbers.
Miyawaki promotes the restoration and recovery of native forests on degraded land. It offer biodiversity in its most natural form and fulfill many functions of natural ecosystems, including maintaining biodiversity, absorption of carbon dioxide, water retention and the protection of land against soil erosion.
